Positron emission tomography is a useful modality in assessing the malignancy of a brain tumor. Introduction of 11C Met-PET in addition to FDG-PET provides a better way to predict the grade of malignancy in glioma. Hypermetabolic lesion in 11C Met-PET depicts high grade glioma even when the FDG-PET shows hypometabolism.
