ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability of magnetic resonance angiography(MRA) for detection of intracranial aneurysms. Twenty consecutive spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage patients who underwent both MRA using three-dimensional time of flight technique(3D TOF) and conventional angiography were subjected. MRA showed 15 aneurysms in 17 patients and conventional angiography revealed 18 aneurysms in 19 patients. Among the 17 subarachnoid hemorrhage, MRA diagnosed 12 patients by aneurysmal rupture. And 19 subarachnoid hemorrhae, conventional angiography showed 15 patients by aneurysmal rupture. Until now, conventional angiography are superior study than MRA but reliability of MRA increasing with improvement of technique.
Key Words: Intracranial aneurysm; Subarachnoid hemorrhage; MR angiography
