ABSTRACT
The pituitary apoplexy has been called a sudden catastrophic hemorrhagic or thrombotic event occuring in the pituitary. Since the pituitary apoplexy was reported in 1905 by Bleibtreu, numerous reviews and case reports have been appearing in the literature at regular intervals. The incidence of pituiatry apoplexy is about 6% in the pituitary tumors. A case of pituitary apoplexy of chromophobe adenoma which was operated and confirmed by autopsy is discussed with a brief review of the literature.
